Private Sailing Lessons
on the Neuse River and AICW
I specialize in instructing sailboat owners on the skills and techniques they need most to have confidence and fun while safely sailing their own boats.
Whether I’m working with women or men, young or seasoned, I coach them all successfully and effectively, with a customized curriculum to meet their specific needs. You will find that with proper experiential training on the water, you can have fun and success on your boat anywhere you want to go.
In my tenure as an American Sailing Association Instructor since 2015, I have certified over 300 people successfully and safely. You can also find me speaking at Risk Management, Docking, Navigation Rules, and Crew Overboard seminars in person and via webinars with Seven Seas University.
In addition to being a certified sailing instructor, I am also a 50-ton master with sailing and towing endorsements. I served 26 years in the United States Marine Corps flying AV-8B Harriers and FA-18 Hornets before retiring in 2008. In 1974, I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary and joined again in Oriental, NC after retiring from the USMC.
